  DIN 6927 standard specifies the requirements for hexagonal prevailing torque type all-metal nuts with an integrated flange. These nuts are engineered as single-part, self-locking fasteners, combining a standard hex nut with a wide, serrated bearing surface to create a secure and vibration-resistant joint. The key feature is the non-detachable, wide flange at the nut's base. Its underside is typically serrated (toothed). These serrations bite into the bearing surface, significantly increasing resistance to rotation and preventing loosening under vibration or dynamic loads.

  The Self-Locking are all-metal lock nuts. The locking action is achieved through a controlled deformation of the threads (e.g., at the top) or the use of a non-circular locking element, which creates a frictional interference fit with the bolt thread. The large flange diameter acts as a built-in washer, distributing the clamping force over a wider area. This helps protect softer materials from damage and improves joint stability.
