Heavy Hex Head Structural Bolts from QBH company help you secure steel-to-steel
structural connections. These rugged steel bolts come in Galvanized, Hot Dipped
Galvanized, Yellow Zinc and Plain finishes.
ASTM A394 Specification covers the chemical and mechanical requirements of hexagon
and square-head zinc-coated steel bolts and atmospheric corrosion-resistant bolts for use in
the Construction of Transmission Towers, Substations, and Similar Steel Structures.
The following Types of bolts are: Type 0 includes hot-dip zinc-coated bolts made of low or
medium carbon steel, Type 1 includes hot-dip zinc-coated bolts made of medium carbon
steel, quenched and tempered, Type 2, and Type 3 includes bare, quenched, and tempered
bolts made of weathering steel. Steel for the manufacture of bolts shall be made by any of
the following processes: open-hearth, electric-furnace, or basic-oxygen. Type 1 bolts
produced from medium carbon steel shall be quenched in a liquid medium from above the
Type 1 bolts produced from medium carbon steel to which chromium, nickel, molybdenum,
or boron were intentionally added shall be quenched only in oil from above the austenitizing
Type 3 bolts shall be quenched only in oil from above the austenitizing temperature.
Cold-headed Type 0 bolts shall be stress relief annealed before zinc coating to
remove cold work effects such that the hardness measured anywhere on the surface or
through the cross-section shall meet the requirement specified. Different tests shall be
conducted in order to determine the following mechanical properties of bolts: hardness,
tensile strength, and shear strength.
ASTM A394 Bolts can be used for many different applications that include fastening wood,
steel, and other construction materials for projects such as docks, bridges, highway structures,
and buildings. ASTM A394 Hex Bolts and ASTM A394 Hex Head Bolts is some of the toughest
These ASME SA394 sturdy fasteners are used to connect heavy materials.
Bolts are externally threaded fasteners used in industrial and construction applications for
assembling two unthreaded products together and available in hundreds of combinations
of materials, heads, threads, plating, heat treating, and secondary operations. We are
manufacturer & supplier of ASTM A394 studs such as All-Thread, Tap-End, Double-End
Studs, and Combination Studs, different types of nuts such as Hex Nuts, Heavy Hex Nuts,
Overtapped Nuts, Tommy Hole Nuts, Spherical-Faced Nuts and Full Threaded Rods, full
thread rods, bonnet bolts, Carriage Bolt in a variety of finishes and sizes from 1/2" to 3 1/2".
In the petroleum and chemical industry the fully threaded stud is the most common
ASTM A394 Bolt used for flanged connections. ASTM A394 Stud bolts are available in all
thread pitches (UNC/UNRC - UNF/UNRF - 8UN) diameters and metric sizes.
ASTM A394 Hex Cap Screws- also known as machine bolts or hex bolts are available in
various bolt grade markings and strengths. Our ASTM A394 Nut Bolts Hex Bolts, Tab Bolts,
Flange Bolts, Carriage Bolts, Shoulder Bolts and T Head Bolts are used to attach machine
threaded fasteners when joining materials together.
Step bolts are literally used as steps on steel communication and electrical transmission towers.
These bolts are generally provided with two A194 grade 2H heavy hex nuts. One nut is tightened
against the thread run out. The unthreaded shank, or step length, typically ranges from 6″ to 10″.
Portland Bolt manufactures step bolts in 5/8″ diameter and 3/4″ diameter. Step bolts are high strength
and are typically manufactured to ASTM specification A449.
