     Coupling nuts (also known as a rod coupling, rod coupling nut, coupler nut, or extension nut), is a threaded fastener for joining two male threads, most commonly threaded rods. The outside surface of the coupling nut is usually a hex shape to allow for wrench tightening. Reducing coupling nuts are a variant design that allows the joining of two rods of differing thread sizes.

    Coupling Nuts are used to make up long tie rod assemblies from shorter lengths of rod and to facilitate assembly of two fasteners or fittings which both have external threads. Coupling nut dimensions are described by the Industrial Fasteners Institute, in IFI-128.

Product application

   

     Hex couplers are used to connect two pieces of threaded material. Hex and heavy hex couplers are threaded right hand. If a right hand-left hand coupler is needed, consider using a sleeve nut.
